About me

I am a senior researcher in the Talking Robots group of DFKI's Language Technology Lab. My research interests include linguistic aspects of spatial cognition for autonomous robots and situated human-robot interaction, with a focus on natural-language generation for transparency in autonomous behavior. Currently, my research is sponsored by the EU-funded FP7 research projects CogX and NIFTi. Before that I was part of the FP6 project CoSy. I studied Computational Linguistics at Saarland University in Saarbrücken, Germany, where I obtained a degree as Diplom-Linguist (Computerlinguistik), and consequently pursued a PhD in the same field.
